In 1992, S. Sankara Raman, a young professional accountant and wheelchair user affected by Muscular Dystrophy, left his lucrative accounting practice in Chennai and joined Mr. Ramakrishnan. Sankara Raman’s dream was to build a “Valley for the Disabled,” where people with disabilities could be educated, rehabilitated, and empowered to live their lives to the fullest. Their vision is to make Amar Seva Sangam a model rehabilitation and education centre, which will cater to the needs of people of all abilities.
